When you're looking for illuminated signage for your business, channel letters or any other purpose, the two primary options at your disposal are LED and neon. Before choosing which will work better, you will, of course, consider certain factors. For instance, is one more durable? Will one cost less? For this reason, here are some of the things that make LED illumination a better option:

Ease of Installation

The ease of installation between LED and neon signage comes with the space usage. Neon is thicker, a little wider, taller, and bulkier than LED lights. This may not be an issue if you're hanging your signs on walls or windows. Nonetheless, the significant difference is in the depth. Neon signs will have to be installed deeper since the glass tubing has to extend away from the backing. LED's being thinner and lighter will be easy to fit.

Maintenance

LED signs require no or very little maintenance. They don't run out quickly and have no glass tubes and no gasses, meaning you won't have to worry about mercury or argon issues. For these reasons, they eliminate the chances of having problems with how they work. For instance, the neon inside neon signs will eventually be exhausted, meaning that you will have to either buy a new sign or have the gas replaced by manufacturers or dealers of neon signs. Moreover, since LEDs have no tubes, cleaning them is much easier than neon signs, whose tubing will require more careful washing.

Clarity and Animation

LEDs have an edge in clarity and brightness, meaning that your signage can be read more easily from a distance than their neon counterparts. This is because neon may appear blurry from afar. LED signs also have a clearer glow that makes it more efficient in advertisements. This means that they are more likely to leave your customers with clear images when they visit your business or pass by it even from afar. In addition, LED signs will remain bright and easily seen even in direct sunlight. On the other hand, it can be quite challenging to tell whether a neon sign is on or off in bright daylight.

Unlike in neon signs that have continuous glass tubes, LEDs are made of multiple separate lights that allow for a variety of animation options. This gives you an upper hand in choosing custom colours that match the unique style of your business.
